History and heritage
- Castell Coch
One of the highlights of the Taff Trail, Castell Coch is a Victorian-era fantasy castle. But this fortress has been protecting the upper reaches of the Taff Valley for many centuries. The earliest, wooden structure on the site was probably built in Norman times, and the stone castle which replaced it was battered by Glyndwr's 14th century Welsh rebellion.
